Hélène Navasse , flutes
Hélène is flutist in Athelas Copenhagen Sinfonietta, former co-solo flutist from Aarhus Symphony Orchestra.
She studied in France where she comes from, and won the solo position in Ensemble Polychromie when she was 18. Hélène is recognised as “a catalisator for the new music, an inspiration for composers” and has numerous pieces dedicated to her, often with multiples flutes. With a particular passion for contemporary music, she has performed with ensembles such as Klang Forum Wien, MusikFabrik, Schoenberg Ensemble, Caput…
She has also performed as a soloist and chamber musician from USA to Japan, and Island to Libanon.

Hélène holds soloist degrees from both Amsterdam Music Conservatorium and The Royal Danish Conservatorium.

Ignas Mažvila , fagot

Ignas has been the principal bassoonist of the Danish Chamber Orchestra since 2010 and became a member of Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen in 2023. In 2024, Ignas began his tenure as the principal bassoonist of the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.

As a guest principal bassoonist, he has performed with orchestras such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Singapore Symphony, Kremerata Baltica, Gothenburg Symphony, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Danish National Symphony, Mahler Jugendorchester, EUYO, Iceland Symphony, HALLÉ Symphony, and many others.

A highly regarded chamber musician, his name appears at festivals like Lockenhaus in Austria, Festival International de Musique de Chambre en Charente in France, Kalmarsund Summer Festival in Sweden, Fejø Chamber Music Festival in Denmark, and Helsinki Chamber Music Festival in Finland. He has collaborated with artists such as Gidon Kremer, Alessandro Carbonare, and Dora Seres, among others.

Born into a musical family in 1985 in Vilnius, Lithuania, Ignas studied at the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts with A. Ančerevičius. He furthered his studies with Prof. Asger Svendsen at the Malmö Academy of Music, Prof. Eckart Hübner at the UDK Berlin, and Prof. Ole Kristian Dahl at MUHO Mannheim.
